Excess soil moisture

Excess soil moisture can lead to root rot problem. Squeeze a handful of your soil, if water drips out it's too wet. Work in some organic matter such as compost, peat and manure. Work into the top 4 - 6 inches of you soil. This will improve the soil structure by allowing plants to breathe in it and Provide important nutrients and beneficial microorganisms.
